Holiday Traditions and the Community That Makes Them Special
December at CFE is rich with holiday cheer and traditions that have become part of our gym’s story. To start the season off, on December 5th, we roll out the massive flipping tires, stack them high, and get the Tire Tree ready to receive your ornaments.
Over the following week, we welcome donations for our annual Manna Food Center drive. Watching the “tire tree” fill with holiday cheer and non-perishable food is a visual reminder of how willing this community is to lift others up — not just barbells.
In honor of Hanukkah we have the 8 Crazy Nights WOD. The story of Hanukkah reminds us that we are capable of more than we believe — that strength can last longer, resilience can shine brighter, and with community behind us, even the toughest challenge can be met with courage.

Holiday Stress? We’ve Got a Barbell for That.
December is supposed to be “the most wonderful time of the year,” but let’s be honest — it can feel like a marathon of schedules, obligations, travel, sugar, and stress layered on top of everyday life.
That’s exactly why now, more than ever, your hour inside CFE matters. Every time you walk in and grab a barbell, a kettlebell or swing from a bar, you’re giving yourself something the season rarely offers: a pause. A reset. A moment where the only thing you have to focus on is moving your body and breathing.
Training doesn’t have to be perfect in December. You don’t need PRs or the “cleanest” diet or a flawless attendance streak. What matters is the act of showing up — for yourself, for your health, and for your sanity.
CrossFit is amazing for stress because it forces you to be present. You can’t think about gift lists, travel plans, or deadlines when you’re in the middle of a set of 10 — or round 6 of 10. Movement clears your head, resets your energy, and gives you a sense of control when everything else feels chaotic.
So if you’re feeling the holiday pressure… come lift it. Literally. We’ve got a barbell for that!

12 Days of Christmas WOD
One of our longest-running favorites is the 12 Days of Christmas WOD, a workout that mirrors the classic song. Just like the tune, we start at day one, climb our way through the movements, and then repeat the sequence in reverse — though don’t be fooled: once you reach day six, you are not even halfway through the work. It’s festive, it’s spicy, and every year it brings out big energy and even bigger camaraderie.
These traditions don’t happen because they’re written on a calendar; they happen because you make them worth doing. By showing up for yourselves, supporting events, cheering each other on, and giving generously, you bring these moments to life year after year.
